GetMaxxing covers the culture of the optimization internet — the people, scenes, language and lore of every "-maxxing." We're a newsroom, not a self-improvement program. This page explains who makes it, how, and what to do when we get something wrong.

GetMaxxing is edited and published by Benjamin Merchin. Stories run under the byline The Maxxing Desk — the site's editorial voice, for which the editor takes full responsibility.
How stories are made
Coverage starts with a daily sweep of the platforms where maxxing culture actually happens — X first, plus the press, forums and app stores that pick it up. Every story is pegged to real, dated, linkable posts and documents; engagement figures are captured at a stated date and frozen in the piece, because the posts we cover have a habit of disappearing.
Viral claims get checked against primary sources before we repeat them — and when the number is wrong but the trend is real, we say exactly that. Single-source claims are attributed, not asserted. On stories touching health or minors we keep a sober register and link to help resources.
AI disclosure
A site covering the optimization internet would be lying if it pretended not to optimize. GetMaxxing is produced by a human editor working with AI (Anthropic's Claude) across research, monitoring, drafting and production. Every published story reflects human editorial direction: subjects are chosen, sources verified and final copy approved by the editor.
AI is never used to invent events, quotes, numbers or sources. Everything reported as fact links to where we found it.
Corrections
When we get a fact wrong, we correct the article and note the change with an updated date. Spotted an error? Write to contact@getmaxxing.com with a link to the story — corrections are reviewed within 48 hours.
