The lexicon

The maxxing dictionary.

Mogging, PSL, cope, hardmaxx, halo, hunter eyes, blackpill. The looksmaxxing lexicon moves fast and gatekeeps hard — here's what it all actually means, defined plainly, honestly, and without the doomer math. 22 terms.

Mogging

verb

To visibly outclass someone in a trait — height-mog, face-mog, calf-mog. Walk into a room and someone's jawline files a police report? You got mogged.

Chad / Gigachad

archetype

The idealized high-tier male; Gigachad is the meme apex — chiseled, symmetric, serenely unbothered. Aspirational, mostly genetic, partly cope.

PSL

scale

The community's 1-10 attractiveness scale (named after the PSL forums). 5 is average, 8+ is 'Chadlite' and up. Endlessly debated, faintly pseudoscientific.

Cope

noun · verb

A comforting rationalization used to dodge a hard truth. 'Looks don't matter' is, statistically, a cope. Calling something cope is the community's favourite move.

Looksmaxxing

umbrella

Deliberately optimizing your appearance — from the trivially sane (sleep, skincare, gym) to the fully unhinged. This whole site, basically.

Hardmaxx / Softmaxx

strategy

Softmaxx = grooming, style, body fat, habits (reversible, sane). Hardmaxx = surgery and drastic intervention. Start soft; you rarely need hard.

Halo effect

bias

One attractive trait making people rate all your others higher. Real, well-studied, and the whole reason first impressions compound.

see also statusmaxxing

Failo

bias

Reverse halo — one bad feature dragging the whole perception down. Why fixing your worst trait usually beats polishing your best.

see also looksmaxxing

Framing

technique

How angle, lighting, camera height and expression change perceived looks. Your 'good side' is framing. Dating-app photos are 90% framing.

see also looksmaxxing

Mewing

technique

Resting your tongue on the roof of your mouth for supposed jaw and midface benefits. Fine posture cue, wildly oversold for adult bone change.

see also mewmaxxing

Canthal tilt

trait

The angle of your eye corners. Positive (outer corner up) reads sharp and youthful; negative reads tired. Among the most-obsessed-over eye traits.

see also eyemaxxing

Hunter eyes

trait

Deep-set, compact, slightly hooded eyes — the male eye ideal. Mostly orbital bone, mostly genetic, endlessly chased.

see also eyemaxxing

Norwood

scale

The 1-7 male hair-loss scale. 'Norwood reaper' = the fear. Knowing your trajectory decides whether you treat early — and early is everything.

see also hairmaxxing

Ascension

event

A dramatic glow-up to a higher tier — the before/after that makes people ask if you had surgery. Usually just fat loss + grooming + confidence, stacked.

Blackpill / Whitepill

worldview

Blackpill = fatalistic determinism ('looks are everything, it's over'). Whitepill = the actionable optimism this site runs on: fix what you control, drop the doomer math.

Based

approval

Admirably, unapologetically yourself — indifferent to whether the take is popular. The spiritual opposite of NPC.

NPC

mild insult

Someone on autopilot, running default settings, zero self-awareness. Named after non-player characters. Touching grass is the cure.

Bonesmashing

meme · do not

Deliberately microtrauma-ing your facial bones to 'remodel' them. A viral idea with real risk and no evidence. Filed firmly under please don't.

Harmony

aesthetics

How your features fit together — thirds, fifths, the ratios beauty research keeps circling. Harmony beats any single "perfect" feature in isolation.

see also looksmaxxing

Frame

trait

Your skeletal width — shoulders, wrists, clavicles. Largely fixed, but broad shoulders can be built and posture reclaims most of the illusion.

see also gymmaxxing

Dimorphism

trait

How strongly a face reads male or female — brow, jaw and cheekbones versus softness. High dimorphism in the wanted direction is what reads as 'striking'.

see also looksmaxxing

Mogger

noun

One who mogs. The guy in the group photo quietly doing all the damage.
